IIT-JEE and NEET foundation course in schools, Grades 6–10

Foundation is not early coaching. It is teaching mathematics and science deeply enough, early enough, that JEE, NEET and Olympiads later feel like the next step rather than a new subject — delivered inside the school day.

What a foundation course is — and is not

A good IIT-JEE and NEET foundation course builds three things in Classes 6 to 10: concept depth in mathematics and science, reasoning (visual, logical and quantitative), and problem-solving habits — reading carefully, checking units, trying a second method.

It is not pushing the Class 11 syllabus into Class 7, and it is not an extra evening batch. Done well, it makes the board syllabus stronger, not lighter.

  • MathematicsNumber sense to algebra and geometry proofs
  • ScienceIntegrated science, Classes 6–8
  • PhysicsMotion, force and energy, Classes 9–10
  • ChemistryMatter, reactions and the mole
  • BiologyCells, life processes and heredity

When should students start?

  • Classes 6–8: habits and reasoning. Activity-based learning, visual reasoning and number sense. This is also the natural age for school Olympiads.
  • Classes 9–10: the bridge. Physics, chemistry and mathematics taught to the depth Class 11 will assume, while the Class 10 board stays the first priority.
  • Classes 11–12: full JEE, NEET and KCET preparation in the integrated programme or, in Karnataka, at an integrated PU college.

How the AcademicX Achiever Track works (Grades 6–10)

  1. 80/20 teaching. Your teachers teach from ready-to-teach packs; national faculty take the hardest topics live in your classrooms.
  2. Worksheets in three tiers. Every chapter has visual-reasoning and activity-based worksheets at three difficulty levels, so each student is stretched without being lost.
  3. Weekly diagnostics. Short tests show which concept each section has missed; heatmaps go to the principal.
  4. Personalised remedials and boosters. Students who need support join remedial groups; advanced learners get booster work and Olympiad problems.

What parents see

A parent reviewing a school report at a desk
Reports go to parents in the school’s name, not a coaching brand’s.
  • A baseline readiness report: where the child stands, chapter by chapter.
  • Mastery updates in plain language after each diagnostic.
  • A personalised support plan: remedial group, practice sheets or booster track.
  • The next review date, so parents always know what happens next.

Grades 1–5: Foundation Spark

For primary grades, Foundation Spark (coming soon) builds conceptual strength, attention and confidence, and reduces the fear of mathematics and science through concept kits, early diagnostics, activity-based learning and visual reasoning.

Questions people ask

What is an IIT foundation course?

An IIT-JEE foundation course builds deep concepts in mathematics and science, reasoning and problem-solving habits in Classes 6 to 10, so that students are ready for JEE preparation in Classes 11 and 12. A NEET foundation course does the same with a stronger emphasis on biology and chemistry.

Which class is best to start a JEE or NEET foundation course?

Classes 6 to 8 are best for reasoning and study habits; Classes 9 and 10 bridge to the Class 11 syllabus. Starting earlier is not about more content, but about deeper understanding of the same content.

Does a foundation course increase pressure on children?

It should not. In the AcademicX model foundation work happens inside the school timetable, worksheets come in three difficulty tiers, and diagnostics are short weekly checks rather than high-stakes exams.

Is the foundation course for CBSE and state board schools?

Yes. The programme is aligned to NEP 2020 and supports CBSE and state board schools.

How is foundation different from Olympiad preparation?

Foundation is for every student and builds the base; Olympiad preparation goes further for students who show strength. The two work well together, and the same diagnostics help identify Olympiad candidates.
